The Studio Classroom Model (SCM) for ELA is designed to strengthen Tier 1 implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) in classrooms where students enter with significant literacy gaps. Rather than lowering rigor or abandoning grade-level work, SCM uses AI-powered tools to enhance close reading, writing, and discussion within the core ELA block, providing students with adaptive feedback and differentiated scaffolds aligned to the demands of the curriculum. At the same time, research-based, AI-powered tools diagnose specific literacy gaps and deliver targeted remediation, supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction for students who need more intensive support. Teachers receive real-time, actionable data and coaching to guide conferencing, facilitate stronger discussions, and strategically pull small groups when appropriate.
