Jonathan Ben-Isvy is the ELA Program Lead for Coteach, where he brings subject matter expertise to product development and designs the professional learning content and models that support Coteach partnerships.

He brings over two decades of literacy and systems experience to this work. Prior to joining the Coteach team, Jonathan led professional learning implementation for Skyline, Chicago Public Schools' PK-12 digital curriculum spanning six subject areas, building out professional learning models for over 24,000 teachers, leaders, and specialists across more than 600 schools. It was in this role that he became passionate about the potential for AI to drive equity in the classroom, seeing firsthand how even the strongest curricula require customization to meet students' needs, and how challenging this is for teachers to do at scale. Coteach represents the opportunity to solve this challenge, and Jonathan brings his passion and empathy for the needs of leaders, teachers, and their students to this role.

Before that, Jonathan was a School Leadership Coach at the University of Chicago's Urban Education Institute, using data-driven diagnostic tools to support school and district leaders nationwide in driving school improvement efforts. He previously worked as a district literacy content specialist and spent seven years in the classroom as a Chicago Public Schools English teacher. Jonathan holds a Master's in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
