About

Dayna Chisholm serves as Head of Academics at Empowered Preparatory School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where she is building the academic program for student-athletes in fifth grade and above.  She is developing a hybrid learning model that combines flexible online coursework with live teacher support, small-group instruction, and data-driven intervention, giving student-athletes the flexibility their sport demands without sacrificing strong instruction or individual support.

Dayna brings nearly three decades of experience in literacy, instructional coaching, curriculum, and school improvement across Massachusetts and Florida. Most recently, she served as an English Language Arts Program Specialist in St. Johns County School District, supporting literacy instruction across more than 30 schools, 2,500 teachers, and 15,000 students. Her work focused on coaching teachers and strengthening literacy instruction in some of the district's most challenging schools, including two historically lower-performing schools that reached an A rating during her time supporting them. During her time with the district, St. Johns County ranked first in Florida for ELA achievement.

Teacher development has been central to Dayna's work throughout her career. Her coaching approach was shaped through extensive training with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Dayna earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Salve Regina University and her Master of Education in Reading from the College of Our Lady of the Elms and holds licensure in Reading, K–12, and Elementary Education. Today, she is focused on making hybrid learning more personalized and data-driven so teachers can better understand and respond to individual student needs. As a hockey mom, she also understands firsthand the demands placed on young athletes and their families, shaping her work to build a school where ambitious academic and athletic goals can coexist.
